The primary purpose of FIFA introducing the FIFA Guardians is to promote everyone’s wellbeing in football and develop a comprehensive approach to safeguarding best practice throughout the game, protect children from harm in football, to introduce a general unified framework of guidance, procedures and templates for member associations to adopt with the ultimate aim of protecting and safeguarding everyone, especially children from harm in football.

Its main focus are to understand strategies to influence and secure the support of individuals within your organisation to promote safeguarding, how to engage with external stakeholders and partners to develop an effective safeguarding culture, the process of developing and implementing effective safeguarding policies and procedures, how to effectively identify and manage safeguarding risks , understand Approaches to identifying, reporting and managing safeguarding concerns and for people involved in football to develop professional transferable skills. It is recommended that students dedicate 5hours of study time to this section.
